Fav Food: Pizza (Pepperoni, Meat Ball, Sausage, Extra Cheese) or Cheese Burger.
Fav Music: Love all kinds of music from RnB, Hip-Hop, Rock but I am really liking Country music at the minute with the likes of Luke Bryan, Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum.
Pregame Rituals: Before each game I kick both posts and touch the cross bar, always the right post first with right foot, then cross bar with left hand and left post with left foot. Peter Schmeichel who was a big hero of mine as kid, he used to do something similar, it helps me get my mind in the right place before kick off, also my drink and towel have to go the right side of the goal.
Advice to Keepers coming up?: Work hard, because you are not irreplaceable. There is always someone wanting to take your place, so I think the best sayings are “train & play as if you are No2” and “Play every game as if its your last”.
Best save you ever made?: Probably a game I played for England against Sweden in the Final of the Nordic tournament, I had one of the best games of my life. The stand out save has to be a double one, where there full back cut in from the side line and hit a great strike from 30 yards on the half volley, I managed to tip it onto the cross bar and then get up and spread myself to stop the rebound.
Fav Players?: Peter Schmeichel, the best ever in my opinion!! I am liking Manuel Neuer at Bayern & Hugo Lloris at Spurs currently, both very different but great keepers.
What do you like in a glove?: Its about the feel for me, I like to be able to feel the ball when catching. Also as I get older I am liking spines in the glove more and more, I think that is down to many broken fingers over the years!
Any Tricks you can share with us?: I think the best trick is hard work, and when everyone else is resting make sure you are training and always listen to your coaches. You will appreciate there advice more when you get older.
