West Coast Goalkeeping Official Skills Goalkeeper Camp

Featuring Professional Goalkeepers and Top Local Trainers!
  • AUGUST 7th & 8th: AGES 8 - 18

The Day Camp will dive deeper into the technical, mental and physical aspects of goalkeeping that are required to compete at the top levels of competitive soccer. Topics covered will include:

  • Handling/catching
  • Diving
  • In possession work (distribution + passing under pressure)
  • Positioning and shot stopping
  • Breakaways
  • GAMES! Each session will have a fun, practical application to the topic!

Goalkeepers should come in with a baseline knowledge of the position, be prepared to work for 2-days of intense positional training and be an active member of a club or high school team. Athletes will be split by age and level to ensure a safe and healthy environment for development.

  • Time: Aug 7th and 8th. 9am to 3pm - check in/arrival time starts at 8:30am 
  • CAMP INCLUDES: GLOVES, SHIRT AND EXCLUSIVE FREE GEAR!

You may bring your own lunch or choose our catered option (WCGK is not responsible for any allergies or food restrictions.)

Camp does NOT include lodging. Information on options for local accommodations will be sent out separately.

Glove Size Guidelines  

  • Goalkeeping Gloves should be worn slightly larger than hands
  • Fingers SHOULD NOT be touching the tip of the gloves
  • Removing Finger Protection will make a glove 1/2 size larger.
  • Reverse/Negative glove cuts are a snugger fit, so it's often best to go a size up if on the border.
  • If you have a larger frame/build, your palm may be larger, requiring a larger glove. Just email us, we are here to help!

How To Measure Your Hands:

Option 1:  Measure the circumference of the widest part of the palm measure the circumference of the widest part of the palm including the thumb. Round up to the next highest inch.

Option 2: ; Measure the length of the hand from tip of the middle finger to the base of the large thumb area where the keeper's thumb meets the wrist. Round up to the next highest inch.

Example:  7.5" rounds up to 8", so a 7 3/4 around hand is a size 8 glove.

Washing Your Gloves  

  • Immerse Gloves Completely with Warm Water (never hot)
  • Put Quarter Size Amount of Glove Wash on Each Palm
  • Work it in on the palm thoroughly, rinsing occasionally
  • Repeat if Neccessary
  • Add Same amount of Glove Wash INSIDE Glove and Water
  • Rinse until no bubbles are seen.
  • Wring Dry Removing All Excess Water
  • Hang Dry (do not put onto heat or in direct sunlight to dry)

Why Use Glove Wash  

  • Most Soaps contain Moisturizers which can harm gloves, West Coast Glove Soap is designed specifically for Gloves
  • Sweat & Dirt Break down your gloves, without cleaning them they won't last as long
  • Washing your gloves restores the grip, bringing back the grip
  • Washing your gloves softens them and makes them more comfortable
  • Dude the Smell... No one wants funky Gloves!
