Tim had some great ideas in what he wanted in a glove, the Wrap over/Wrap Under thumb that you see in so many West Coast gloves today, was a Tim Melia concept. When it came to designing the glove, lightweight, flexible and breathable were all vital - but it had to have a large amount of latex to increase surface area when catching.
The Quantum HERO has our 4.25mm German Performance Giga Grip. This Latex was last used on our Spyder-MAX and Spyder X Series gloves. It is perfect for keepers who need a very durable glove. It is also a great All-Weather glove and is classified as a 'thirsty glove.' This means it needs to be wet before use for best results.

When designing the glove a few things were important to Jimmy: Comfort, Flexibility, Extended Palm and a glove that can perform in any condition while being very durable on turf fields. After over 10 months of testing we choose 4mm German Graphite + Latex for this glove.

We combined the Round Roll Finger on the Index and Pinky with the MAX Expanse cut on the Middle two fingers together and added a Wrap Around Thumb- wrapping the latex over and under the thumb.
