The Extended palm will help with throws and front smothers and give you extra confidence while making catches, it will also provide a more snug wrist. We have used the wrist strap from the Quantum series on this particular Spyder, making it essentially a Hybrid Glove in almost every way- it really is a new glove, not just different colors!
